"We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking
if mankind is to survive."
-- Albert Einstein |
The
world we live in is in a lot of trouble.
There are millions of people around our planet
suffering in poverty, oppression, and hopelessness.
They struggle against disease, illiteracy,
pollution, war, and catastrophe.
They and their children face fear, despair, and darkness.
Meanwhile, there are millions of Americans who live in luxury,
excess, and gluttony. The United States, which has less than
4% of the world's population, consumes more than 25% of the world's
resources. While millions starve, our citizens grow fat. Obviously, there is an
imbalance here. Many people remain ignorant, indifferent, even
arrogant about the terrible problems outside of our country.
Our nation may be a symbol of freedom, but it is also a
stronghold of selfishness.
As the world becomes
increasingly unstable on the political, environmental,
and social fronts, it is time for Americans (and others everywhere) to consider
making some serious changes here at home to help the rest of the
planet.
We started
revolutioncentral.com to help people learn about what
needs to be done to make the world a better place.
We want people to become more sensitive to the needs of
others; more generous, more giving, more selfless. We
will try to show the men and women and children of this
country how to be more considerate of the people and
places beyond our borders, as well as those less
fortunate within. We want individuals to think of the
whole world as a single community, and to re-think our
goals with a global perspective.
This isn't going to be easy. We have to change a lot of
minds...about materialism, nationalism, capitalism, and
the so-called American dream. We have to help people
redirect their focus away from greed and gratification,
and work toward a long-lasting future of worldwide
prosperity and international cooperation. We have to
educate people about the environment, human rights, and
the very essence of being human---caring for one another,
sharing with one another, and putting the rest of the
world first.
This may sound like just a bunch of wishful thinking and
flowery talk, but we are very serious about changing the
world, and with your help, one person at a time, we can do this.
The mission of
revolutioncentral.com is to inform, encourage, and
inspire people to take action and make the world a better
place . . . to help improve the way we think, act, and live
in the world . . . to turn the world around.
In the coming days, we will introduce new and creative
ideas, present useful information, and encourage
awareness and positive change through innovative activism
projects and outreach programs. We hope you will join us
as we try to bring about a positive revolution in the
world.
Our world has a lot of problems. To fix these problems,
we need to work together on a global level. We all have to step back, and look at the whole planet as one
world. One neighborhood. One people. One revolution.
That's the very big picture, and we hope our vision will
help people see it.
Thank you for your support, and best wishes.
